Session 2
Legal Research: Myths, Realities & Effectively Using it to Get Ahead
Colleen Fitzgerald Cable, JD, MLIS
1 hour 15 minutes
Legal Research can be scary when a client (or the firm) is picking up the tab. You don't want to be known as the associate who ran up thousands of dollars in unnecessary legal research charges. Instead, use your legal research skills effectively and efficiently to stand out from the crowd.
This session will cover:
"Blind reliance on research that focuses merely on words and not on concepts poses the same hazards that lawyers encountered in the late 19th Century. We judges can access raw data too. What we look for from lawyers is help making sense of it all."
- Chief Justice John Roberts, US Supreme Court
